Middle school sports, staff cuts pending in Warren Hills Regional School District's proposed $34 million budgetWednesday, March 24, 2010By STEPHEN J. NOVAK The Express-Times WASHINGTON TWP. | Warren Hills Regional School District officials introduced a preliminary $34 million budget Tuesday that proposes to cut middle school sports and an undisclosed number of staff. A public hearing on the budget for the 2010-11 school year is scheduled to be held March 30. Voters will weigh in on the spending plan during the school elections April 20. The budget is down about $2 million from last year, but the impact of state-level decisions necessitates a rise in taxes for the four municipalities in the district, as well as cuts throughout most of the district's operations, officials said.
